Verse of the Day:
Then the LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.” – Genesis 2:18

Devotion:
We talked a little yesterday about singleness. It’s easy if you’re single to feel like you’re all alone. You can let your mind wander and begin to feel unhappy all because you’re single. The truth is, the desire for a relationship is normal. God has wired you to want a relationship.

Then the LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.” – Genesis 2:18 (NLT)
God saw that Adam was alone in the garden and created Eve to be his helper. So God created marriage and He created humans to have relationships. So, if you have a desire to be in a relationship and to be married someday, then that’s a good desire.

The trouble comes when you try to rush things or become unhappy in waiting. If you’re single, you have to learn to be content and happy in your relationship with God. Instead of spending each night crying into your pillow, wishing for a relationship, choose to get to know your heavenly father.

Talk to Him. Ask Him for help. Spending your energy seeking Him, and as you do, one day the right kind of relationship will come into your life. And because you spent time getting to know God, He can show you what that right kind of relationship will look like.

Spending time getting to know God is never wasted. God created you and knows you better than anyone else. So as you get to know Him, He will show you things about yourself. He will help you and then when the time is right, you’ll be ready to enjoy a relationship that is god-directed and focused on the right things.

Announcements:

JH/HS Athletes: You are NOT allowed to walk to the Sports Complex for practice or games!  We will provide transportation, either a bus or shuttle/van to take you to the Complex.  If you have any questions, please talk to Mrs. Burns. The flex shuttle departs at 2:40 (M, T, TH, F) and 2:10 (W) and the after school shuttle depart at 3:10 (M, T, TH, F) and 2:40 (W).

Boys Volleyball Interest Meeting:  We will have an interest meeting on Friday, September 19th during lunch in Room 14 (Mr. Knaak's Room). This is MANDATORY for all returners. We will discuss offseason plans, as well as fundraising and the upcoming season. Spread the word! #BANNERUP 

Homecoming Dress-Up Days: 
Military Monday - dress in clothes representing a branch of the military; camo; black boots, etc.
Tropical Tuesday - dress in Hawaiian, tropical, beachy clothes
Western Wednesday - get your boots, cowboy hats and western wear on
TV Thursday - dress in a favorite character from a TV show or movie
Flag Friday - dress in everything with the American flag and/or red, white and blue!
