Verse of the Day:
So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. – 2 Timothy 2:22

Devotion:
It can be easy to get caught up in peer pressure. When you see your friends making bad decisions it can be really hard for you. You might feel pressured to go along with them, or not make good choices too.

Today’s Bible verse gives some good advice for those types of situations. It says run. Run from temptations. For example, if you know there’s going to be lots of drinking at a party, don’t go. Run from situations that might cause you to do the wrong thing.

Making the right choice might not always be the easiest thing to do, but in the long run, you’ll avoid a lot of heartbreak and bad decisions if you do. Remember too that you can win the fight against temptation. You’ve got the greater one living on the inside of you. He will help keep you strong in the midst of peer pressure if you’ll learn to rely on Him and His leading.

Announcements: 

Prom (Jr/Sr Banquet) Sign-ups are at the Office! Join us for "A Night by the River" on Saturday, May 9th from 6-9 pm!  It will be located on the beautiful Jackson property at 41074 Road 32, Kingsburg, CA. It's going to be a great time celebrating the final banquet/event of the school year!  The deadline for juniors and seniors to sign up (including your guest) is Friday, May 1st! It is $50 per person, and you can sign up as many as 10 per table at the office.  Seniors are free, but we still need you to sign up for your tables at the office. Guest passes are available at the office, and the deadline to turn those in is Wednesday, May 6th.
