My name is Joshua Bachar and I am so excited to serve the Immanuel community. I love God, my wife Sarah, coffee, and Star Wars! I grew up in the small town of Caruthers with my mother and younger brother, where I attended and graduated from Caruthers High School. I continued my academics at Fresno Pacific University, gaining my Bachelor degree in English/Secondary Teaching as well as meeting my best friend, now wife, Sarah Bachar. Originally, I thought that I wanted to pursue a career in Education as a High School teacher, but God had something else planned for me.
Kuppa Joy Coffee House was Sarah and I’s favorite place to study and go on dates after our classes. When I found out they were accepting applications I thought it would be a great place to work part time while I was still in school. Through the Lord’s favor I was blessed to be a part of an amazing team of individuals who were focused on Loving God, People, and Coffee. For two years at Kuppa Joy I learned how coffee can be so much more than just an amazing drink, but a ministry that I could be a part of to serve others. “Based on the gift they have received, everyone should use it to serve others, as good managers of the varied grace of God” (1 Peter 4:10).
